Ebook Conversion - PDF to epub

This is pretty basic process, but I don't apologize for it.  It's a quick and dirty text only conversion that works great, and is free!

1. Open the desired PDF with Reader X or your favorite PDF reader.  Select scrolling view, then 'Ctrl+A' or Edit - Select All.

2.  Now 'Ctrl+C' or right click - Copy, or Edit - Copy.  Then open Notepad or your favorite text editor and 'Ctrl+V' or right click - Paste or Edit - Paste.  Save the file to whatever you choose.

3.  Open the file with Sigil, edit the file to your satisfaction.

4.  Import the new epub into Calibre, and again edit and save for your device.

I hope this helps some of you.  I know it would be preferable to have the pictures that were included in your PDF file to be placed cleanly into your new epub, and this can be accomplished in Sigil by manually importing your pictures, but for me, text only is usually sufficient.

Also, every program mentioned in this post (except Notepad) is cross-platform, so you can do this on any computer, Windows, OS-X or Linux.
