The Death of Free AVG?

First of all:

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2007!!!!!

I can't believe I've been doing this for over a year now. My resolution for this year is to put a post up at least once per month. Keep me honest, people. And please, if you read this, could you help me out by putting a small comment to an article once in awhile. It helps a writer to know his 'stuf' is actually being read...

On to the topic at hand!

If you've been using free AVG, you by now have read their warning how version 7.1 will cease to be supported in the middle of this month. I'm sure some of you are wondering whether you'll have to go and buy Norton. Allow me to set your minds at ease!

AVG 7.1 is being discontinued, this is true. However, what you may not realize when reading the ad is that version 7.5 is available for free use now at free.grisoft.com. Of course, this is not the only solution. If you go to free-av.com you will find a program called Avira AntiVir Personal Edition Classic. Just remember to uninstall your AVG before installing Anti-Vir. Otherwise you may have a big mess on your hands!

Safe surfing!

Thanks for the info on AVG. I was worried that I might have to find an alternative. Thanks for the info on an alternative. AVG seems to be working pretty well. I think I will stick with it for now. Keep on blogging. D.H.
